have been hard at work for awhile. Since forming in 2012, the four piece band has continued to experiment and explore a varied sound that would highlight all of their influences while culminating in a fresh aesthetic. Influenced by Wilco
, their use of quiet instrumentation to express a bevy of emotions is tantalizing. Infusing jazz and pop songwriting techniques, the innovative nature of their music is something that sounds foreign yet inviting. The relaxed nature of the music makes it all too easy and pleasurable to get lost in. With their upcoming debut album Waking Day
scheduled for April, the roll out campaign is under way.
New song "Meena" is a nice offering into what this band can do. The band has a strong hold on their presentation of sound; mixed extremely well, each instrument seems to find room to show it's importance in the sonic space. With a piano riff carrying a steady beat, the guitars and drums slow down and speed up in accordance with the emotional outbursts of lead singer Sharif. With lines like, "Work it out, write it together," you feel like he's almost commenting on the music. When he repeats, "I wanna talk about it" you wonder what more you can say. The instrumental is already so expertly crafted that the arrangement speaks for itself. With heavy guitar riffs to close out the song, the band makes it known they aren't above having a little fun.

coming April 14th.
