Before everyone's brains officially begin to melt, Baeble has deemed it necessary to offer up a list of songs about the fifth day of the week for all of you as an alternative to The-Song-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named.
Baeble's "Friday" playlist:
The Cure - "Friday I'm In Love"
This song is not only at the top of the Friday playlist, but is also a classic staple of the love-song mixtape, a technology that saw its prime before You-Know-Who was even born. We cannot let the best day of the week fall from grace so tragically, so be sure to get back to basics by enjoying "Friday I'm In Love" by The Cure.
Katy Perry - "Last Friday Night"
If you really need your quinessential bat-sh*t crazy Friday night pop anthem, we recommend Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night". This song has the classically catchy beat of a pop track done right, despite containing the lyrical class and complexity of a Kesha song.
The Academy Is... - "His Girl Friday"
This song may be more about a love triangle than it is about being happy the work week is over (or eating cereal, thank god), but it manages to cater to the crowd whose current romantic scenario has taken a devious twist without contemplating car seat decisions, so it makes the list.
Lily Allen - "Friday Night"
Lily Allen's take on entering the weekend describes a confrontational night out at da club, and does so with her distinctly quirky softness to even out the track and land on the Friday playlist.
David Bowie - "Friday on my Mind"
We finish off with David Bowie's direct alternative to the weekday countdown that manages to avoid explaining the order of the weekdays to us. Bowie does us the decency of assuming we can figure it out for ourselves, so take a listen to test your knowledge.
