music video for "Happy" claims to be the world's first 24 hour music video and it features clips of different people lip-syncing and dancing in the streets of LA. The video has inspired a series of YouTube parodies from people in cities across the globe showing off their own "Happy" pride. We've combed through the masses of international reppin' on YouTube and picked out the most entertaining of the bunch.
1. Saigon, Vietnam
Beyond the bad-ass dancing, Saigon makes our list thanks to its comical opening scene. Let's just say someone gets buried in the end...
2. High Tatras, Slovakia
Absolutely nothing can bring these people down, primarily because their love lives high up in a giant mountain resort. Watch these Slovakians dance around in the snow wearing skimpy bikinis and giant marshmallow ski jackets.
These Jamaicans clearly have a natural gift for being happy, Bob Marley would be proud if he could see their high spirited dance moves. Some notable points are the adorable and impressive kiddie dance numbers, and a guy breaking it down on a tiny river raft.
4. Phillippines Post-Typhoon Haiyan
This looks like a post-apocalyptic version, but it's actually filmed in the ruins following the devastating typhoon that hit the Phillippines last year. It seems their spirits haven't been drowned as they dance around in the wake of destruction. Although recovery is slow for them, its touching to see some healthy booty shaking emerge from the rubble.
5. Tatooine (Star Wars Tunisia Club)
The Star Wars Fan Club in Tunisia threw on some crazy costumes and prance around for an out of this world version of "Happy". The video is even filmed on the old set of Tatooine in the Tunisian desert. I'm not convinced that Darth Vader is happy though, he still looks pretty grumpy to me.
Adorable rendition of the song by the Detroit Elementary School Choir.
Western Asia shows off how many ridiculously cool and attractive people are hiding out just beyond Europe.
Shortly after we made this list a great new video was shared in honor of World Down Syndrome Day. They win.
