There's something mythical and romantic to me about life on the road in a band. I've interviewed enough artists to know that isn't actually the case (it's hard, lonely work) but I watched Almost Famous
too many times as a kid and wound up with that not quite mythical and not quite romantic dream of writing about the bands I love and being part of a spontaneous sing-along to "Tiny Dancer" with Billy Crudup and Kate Hudson will always be on my bucket list. And in their video for "Sophia," Canadian alt-rockers Van Damsel
bring a little bit of that fantasy back to life.
We've got the exclusive premiere of Van Damsel's video for "Sophia" (off their self-titled debut record due out 4/22), and the track is a hip-shaking piece of shimmering guitar pop. Think Walk the Moon back from their "Anna Sun" days, and you get part of the picture. The video follows the band on the road, and between the anthemic uplift of the track and the blast the band seems to be having in virtually every frame, it's clear that you'll be hard-pressed to find a Canadian pop-rock crew having more fun than Van Damsel.
