If you're on the east coast right now, you may have heard about the massive blizzard happening in NYC. Yup, we're right in the middle of it, and although snow causes a lot of complications, there is one nice silver lining - snow days. Suddenly I'm back in elementary school and the inner child in me is screaming, and as I garner more experience in snow days, I'm finally learning how to do them right. Candles, blankets, pillows, cute PJs, dramatic lighting, and snacks (am I describing an innocently cozy household or the perfect place to seduce your lover?) are all necessities for having a good snow day, but possibly the most important factor is music. How can you fully get in the "defrosting mindset" without the perfect soundtrack? So we've put together a playlist to help warm you up. It has a little bit of everything - classics like Fleetwood Mac and Bowie, indie darlings like Sharon Van Etten and Laura Marling, and even some jazz artists like John Coltrane and Ella Fitzgerald. And yes, there IS a Christmas song on there, but c'mon guys, you can't tell me that "Baby, It's Cold Outside" isn't totally appropriate for this.
Whatever genre you're on, every song on this playlist is guaranteed to make you want to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and get cozy AF.
