Summertime in Chicago
is there another city quite like it? The Lakefront, the parks, the block parties, the ballgames; never have I ever spent time in a place that embraces May through September quite like that jewel of a city. And after the winter that town has seen? Why it seems only right to hand my fellow Midwesterners the kind of good news that will have them dreaming of BBQs and mid season collapses.
Still the best bargain of the summer festivals (though ticket prices have certainly spiked a bit), the
Pitchfork Music Festival will once again take over Chicagos Union Park for a rather epic kind of weekend. Slated to take place July 18th 20th, Pitchfork have already confirmed
Animal Collective, !!!, Vampire Weekend, Dizzee Rascal, Spiritualized, M. Ward, and
Atlas Sound will perform (with more Artists to be rolled out at a later date).
Public Enemy will also perform
It Takes a Nation of Millions to HOld Us Back in its' entirety as part of
All Tomorrow's Parties "Don't Look Back".
Tickets for Pitchfork go on sale tomorrow at 12 CST. Three-day passes will run you $65, two-day passes for Saturday and Sunday are $50, and individual day passes cost $30. -
