Throughout the past few weeks I've written episodic recaps of True Detective's stellar soundtrack, and last night, those of us who were not effected by the horrendous HBO Go crash, finally experienced the great crime drama's epic conclusion. The only blatant disappointment, for me, was the lack of T Bone Burnett's musical touch in the finale.

Unfortunately, due to this we will not have a clue-sniffing lyrical breakdowns like those of the past two weeks. But, thanks to Mike 2600, we have an 8-bit remake of the series' theme song "Far From Any Road", originally performed by The Handsome Family. Listen below, and imagine Rust and Marty riding off into the sunset on their handsome steeds Carcosa and Yellow King.
