  • New Music Video: Kings Of Leon
Kings Of Leon has released their music video for Come Around Sundown track, "Back Down South". The country tune's slide guitar and fiddle are complimented by the video's pastoral setting. Unlike most contemporary country artists, whose videos celebrate back-country lewdness, KOL capture the idyllic simplicity of small-town, middle America.
  • Album Review: White Denim
With their fifth studio album, Austin garage rock outfit White Denim have managed to capture the essence of all things summer (a time of sun, BBQs, and best of all, outdoor music festivals). If you can't make it to any of the dozens of festivals this summer, you're in luck. The psychedelic, vintage rock of White Denim will make you reminisce about the summer of 67 (or maybe it was 76?) as they take you down a seemingly familiar path, simultaneously teasing every sense you have about what to expect.
  • New Music Video: Janes Addiction NSFW
In support of their upcoming, hopefully by September release of their fourth full-length, The Great Escape Artist, Jane's Addiction has released a music video for the band's comeback single, "End to the Lies".

The video was produced by ShadowMachine Films, the animation masterminds behind Adult Swim's Robot Chicken. Band members are transformed into living, Banksian portraits. Oh yeah, there's also some boobs.
  • The Week In Album Streams
Your head may be pounding following your three-day-weekend of debauchery, so to help ease your suffering, we've collected the interweb's most notable full-album streams. Those of you who are still sweating out the booze may want to wait a day to preview F*cked Up's opus, but Vedder's uke strums are a perfect hangover cure.
  • Overdue Debut: The Postelles
Despite their youthfulness, The Postelles already had their rocking and rolling poise when they stopped by our Rockwood Music Hall sessions during last year's CMJ Fest. It was tough to tell the New York foursome hadn't even released a full album yet with such a prolific set-list of polished pop. The extended delay on the band's self-titled debut has only amplified the excitement, and next week, they finally silence the anticipatory noise once and for all.
  • The Week In TV
It's a short week in late night land, which means your glass of whole musical guests is going to taste a lot more like skim. Reruns across the board as our favorite hosts kick it in more favorable circumstances than "work" (on the beach, on their couch at home, at the country club, working on that banter, guesting on other late night shows?). Fret not, the magic of old shows is not lost, here are a few worthy reruns to catch up with in case you missed their original run date, not to mention a small selection of brand new shows hidden in the mix.
  • Cover Of The Day: Trent Reznor and Karen O Do Zeppelin
The Hangover II (aside from being the apt nickname for your Tuesday morning post-Memorial Day slump) is a movie that probably sold a lot of tickets this weekend. More importantly, nestled in the previews is an audible treat hiding behind the trailer for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo: a rendition of "Immigrant Song" piloted by Trent Reznor (NiN, How To Destroy Angels) and Karen O (The Yeah Yeah Yeahs). The awesomeness of seeing the current James Bond running around aside, this cover is kind of epic. Check it out below.
  • Stream: New Modest Mouse
Nothing like a long weekend of watching Twitter feeds waiting to hear about new Modest Mouse songs debuting at Sasquatch!, amirite? The band headlined the Washington fest on Sunday night and did the world the service of dropping two new songs. It's only speculation, but maybe both will appear on their "hodgepodge of funkiness" being produced by Atlanta's Big Boi (who spawned the funkiness line, FYI) and veteran Outkast knob-twister Chris Carmouche at Stankonia Studios. Feast your ears below.
  • Happy Memorial Day!
It's Memorial Day in America, where we reflect on the lives of those who lived and died doing a service to our country. Naturally, this includes the strong American traditions of grilling cow and other charcoal friendly food items, and being with family and friends in the glorious outdoors. The weekend marks the beginning of the long summer holiday in America, where we all get three months vacation to go water skiing and drink like our livers are made of impenetrable magic. Psyche! We'll be back on Tuesday. We're not kidding about the drinking though.

    But before we go...
  • RIP: Gil Scott Heron
Sad news today: Gil Scott Heron, the legendary poet, famous for his work in spoken word, R&B and hip-hop, has died. He had a collection of highly successful and influential releases in the 70s, and after a hiatus from the spotlight, recently regained prominence with his 2010 release I'm New Here, and the follow-up remix album We're New Here. He was 62.

Watch some of Heron's recent work after the jump.
  • Album Review: Cults
I remember hearing Cults for the first time, like it was just yesterday. Well, I don't have to reach back too far, considering it was only a few months ago that their five-track Bandcamp stream was spread through our office like a enchanting case of the chicken pox. After the darling duo, of two former NYU students, Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion, were signed to Lily Allen's Columbia imprint, In the Name Of, our anticipating itch for their self-titled, debut LP inflamed exponentially. It's always pleasing to witness any of our NYU neighbors succeed, especially when our interns proclaim that theyve shared classrooms with band members. And when the sonic output is as captivating and innovative as Cults' Motown-synth tunes, we can't abstain from becoming maniacal addicts.
