  • new video: el guincho
El Guincho's new video starts off with a monologue claiming he is going to answer questions about the universe. The proceeding video then leaves me with more questions than I had before (possibly because I don't know Spanish, but I think some Spanish speakers may be in the same boat as I).
  • fun of the day: justin timberlake and jimmy fallon
There has always been a boyish charm about Jimmy Fallon, even though he occasionally misses the funny bone. But a tribute to rap starring Justin Timberlake, backed up by the legendary Roots crew? Yes please.
  • new video: kordan
Kordan for their new song "Mirror." The video is just in time for their upcoming debut, The Longing which is to be released on October 12th from Last Bummer Records.
  • that's a wrap: ingrid michaelson
As you may have surmised through some research, we spent the morning filming the charming Ingrid Michaelson at Rockwood Music Hall. The session will be hitting the site soon (but not yet), so whet your palate with some pics!
  • the guest apartment: klaxons
Though usually a wild and rambunctious outfit in the live setting, Klaxons prove their capable of intense adaptability in our latest segment of The Guest Apartment. Trading the percussive heartbeat, piercing guitar work, and lofty atmospheric flourishes their used to rolling over audiences with for lush acoustics, vocal harmonies, and the band's wiley falsettos, the band serve notice that their intergalactic psych rock can make unexpected turns towards other distant sonic galaxies.

What follows is an effortless acoustic session that showcases the roots of their often very weird compositions in an endearing and intimate manner. Cut with candid conversation about their work, our latest segment of The Guest Apartment showcases a familiar band of stars in an elegant new way. You can bet Space Cat is proud of his boys.
  • we'll be right back!
Hey guys. We have a video to premiere today, as well as more of our usual rambling/Kanye loving/MP3 hocking/skeptical face/laughs, but we've got a daytime shoot somewhere in the NYC, so we're taking a few hours of sabbatical. Be back soon with all the details! -joe puglisi
  • mp3: elizabeth and the catapult
Elizabeth & The Catapult have released "You and Me," the first single off their forthcoming album The Other Side of Zero. The song sounds like an ultra rock-y Sara Bareilles with a little bit of country and dance simultaneously mixed together, and catchy as hell. That sounds good, right?
  • out and about: tallest man on earth
Tallest Man on Earth packed Chicago's Park West last Wednesday night with an incredibly devoted crowd, calmly foaming at the mouth as they waited for him to take the stage. When he stepped into the spotlight, towering at a mind-blowing 5'9"ish (thought I'd get the height joke out of the way early on), his singularly impressive picking was so effortless it truly looked like finger-syncing.
  • feature: what not to do
WNTD is your guide to all things music, video, and unfathomably wrong.

Today's WHAT NOT TO DO: The Blue Butterfly Effects.
  • mp3: your youth
Brooklyn based band Your Youth recently sent us two great tracks off their debut EP Aloha.
  • late night: menomena
The Portland based band Menomena performed their song "Taos" on Last Call with Carson Daly last night.
