Thistled Spring, the thawing of Horse Feather's distinctly chilly aesthetic, is due April 20th.
House With No Home was the previous bout of Justin Ringle's obsession with the seasons... a winter album full of songs about loneliness that got our attention, so we brought the band in for a Guest Apartment Session. Now the band is moving on to warmer things, rebirth, renewal, and hopefulness.
Ringle is originally from Idaho, but moved to Portland because that is a thing you do when you want to be a musician. There he released some demos, and was joined by his sister and Peter Broderick (Norfolk & Western, Dolorean, and Loch Lomond), who came together to record and release
Words Are Dead, the first HF album (released locally), in 2006. It was well received, even earning a Plug Award nomination for 'Best Americana Album'.
Thistled Spring is out 4/20, just in time for actual spring, on Kill Rock Stars. -
