Occasionally, when one is trying to describe the sound of a band (particularly the heavily niche groups that make up modern indie preferences), you're often required to put together strange strings of words that you would have never thought made sense in context. Synthpunk outfit the Ting Tings is a perfect example of this trend. Synth pop and punk (and reggae and soul) don't seem like they should go together. Yet, on this new track from the Ting Tings upcoming album, Sounds from Nowheresville, they craft these disparate and seemingly incompatible parts to make a rocking whole. Check out the undeniably fun (and lyrically dissonant) "Soul Killing" below.
