Indie power pop group OK Go
are practically the prototypical example of a viral music video rocketing an act to fame. "Here It Goes Again"
is a great track on its own merits, but everyone remembers the acrobatics of the treadmill music video more than the song itself. Well, those crazy guys are at it again with a video for their new song "Needing/Getting" that premiered during last night's epic Super Bowl showdown. Considering they were airing the video in one of the most highly visible spots in all of television, OK Go did not disappoint.
Partnering with Chevrolet (which might have been selling out had the video and music not been so fun), they drove a Chevy Sonic with retractable arms and used those arms (and various other appendages attached to the car) to play over a thousand instruments that were laid out along a track that the lead singer drove while singing. It's really impressive feat. If you were one of the rare Americans not watching the Super Bowl last night, here's the full video below.
