Girls are one of the few bands out right now that markedly encompass the sound of their past influences-- they've even been compared to Elvis Costello and Buddy Holly. Last September, they put out their critically acclaimed second album
Father, Son, Holy Ghost and now the video for their third single "My Ma" is available. The song is an obvious ode to a missed mother, but the video helps conjure up some raw emotion. Shot from the mother's perspective, watch as she wanders through a lonely day. You can really feel the sentiment of the song via a stolen glimpse of a newspaper article titled, "Girls singer grasps the cult of celebrity" on the refrigerator door. You won't end the video sulking in misery, so don't fret, but, the song and video are a nice change of pace from the generally caffeine-infused stuff we've been watching daily on YouTube.
