When the centennial clock reset itself eight years ago
REMs historically rich album output pretty much fluttered down to a crawl. For the bands diehards, the 21st century has offered only two albums (compare that to the 11 releases REM delivered in the 80s and 90s) of original tracks to take stock in; that being
Reveal and
Around the Sun. But this April
Michael Stipe, Peter Buck, and
Mike Mills will return with
Accelerate; the bands first album in four years. Slated for an April 1st release date on
Warner Brothers,
Accelerate was recorded in Vancouver, Dublin, and the bands home town of Athens, GA with
Jacknife Lee a Grammy Award-winning producer who has most notably worked with U2, as well as Bloc Party.

Modest Mouse and
