Pond is a new band that is born out of Austrailian psych-rockers Tame Impala's Nick Albrook and Jay Watson. Albrook, who usually is on backing guitar and bass duty for Tame Impala, writes the majority of the songs for Pond.

Their newest track "Mystery" is aptly titled. The song is intriguing because it never picks up to impala speed, but it doesn't need to. The band moves slowly with intention before building tension with screeching guitars and electrified drums. The distorted, reverb saturated track is reminiscent of their brother band, while not becoming reduntant to the main group. it's a nice mood track and shows the Aussie musicians trying to go in multiple directions with different projects at once. Catch "Mystery" from their upcoming LP Beard Wives Denim, which is out on March 6 via Modular.
