Remember when MySpace was cool? Before the plague of predators and when Facebook was merely an Ivy Leaguer's wet dream, this social network acted as a profound tool of connection. In 2005, two aspiring hip-hop artists, Antoine "Sir Michael Rocks" Reed and Evan "Chuck Inglish" Ingersol stumbled across each other, by chance, amongst the community of millions. Together they formed the duo The Cool Kids
, releasing their golden age of hip hop-influenced tracks solely on the social network, they described themselves as "the new, black version of the Beastie Boys."
The Cool Kids' singles were utilized throughout pop culture in video games, television commercials, a hit TV series (Entourage), and an EARLY Baeble show
. Finally, Reed and Ingersol have put together their first full-length album, When Fish Ride Bicycles
. Not only does the pair garb themselves in the Starter jackets of their predecessors, but their sonic output is reminiscent of the early DIY mixing. Via Mountain Dew's Green Label Sound
, The Cool Kids have released the track, "Bundle Up", off of their debut album. The Nintendo-esque beat crisply accompanies the simplistic rhymes.
