Johannes Brahms was a Romantic, German composer of "pure music". BRAHMS
is a Brooklyn-based threesome that appeared on indie radars following their impromptu, opening performance for Passion Pit's sold out, Terminal 5 show. Their classical ancestor will surely perplex Google investigations, but once found, the trio supplies aesthetically pleasing, electronic symphonies.
Comprised of Eric Lodwick (bass, synth, keys), Cale Parks (vocals, percussion, beats, samplers, keys), and Drew Robinson (vocals, guitar, keys), BRAHMS embodies manic melodies beguiled by speaker bursting, percussive thumping. To some, a vocal comparison to Dave Gahan is considered sacrilege, but it's difficult to find a closer semblance to the band's stand-up percussionist/vocalist, Cale Parks. After we caught BRAHMS last year at Brooklyn Bowl, we were thrilled to hear their latest single, "Add It Up".
