It's easy to forget with albums like Heartbreaker
or his work with Whiskeytown that alt-country icon Ryan Adams
has shown plenty of interest in metal in the past (especially under his black metal act Werewolph). At a concert in Los Angeles, Ryan Adams paid tribute to the late great Ronnie James Dio by performing an acoustic take on Dio's classic metal track "Holy Diver." As a fan of the original song, we never would have believed that it would work as a softer acoustic number, but Ryan Adams makes it shine. Before the song, he shared some touching words about how inspired he has felt by Dio over the years. It takes a classy act to spell out the influences from his late hero with such poise.
