We've been anticipating the
Chucks sponsored threesome this year, mainly because the combination of Gorillaz, Andre 3000, and James Murphy is one of the most high-profile and attractive of the three-songs-one-artist lexicon (the others being Pharrell/Santigold/Julian Casablancas and Best Coast/Kid Cudi/Rastam Batmanglij). It's also worth mentioning roughly all of Gorillaz discography is of a collaborative nature, making the combination of multiple artists a much more natural fit for Damon Albarn than other notable voices. The track "DoYaThing," premiered today on Radio 1 and it did not disappoint. Although it does just feel like a Gorillaz track featuring 3000 and Murphy, it's easily the best Chuck collaborative track yet.
I'll be honest, I was a little worried when Andre 3000 came in singing but stick to it, he drops the verse eventually. Listen while the radio rip is still existing!
Funniest part of the whole thing is the BBC Radio 1 DJ crying about getting an Outkast album now. Well, CAN WE?
