M. Ward is releasing a new solo album,
A Wasteland Companion, on 4/10. There's a new music video for a track from the upcoming album, "The First Time I Ran Away," and it manages to be both inexplicably disturbing and beautiful at the same time. It's a truly inspired video and while the song itself may seem like fairly conventional alt-folk, this video is something else. The fact that it's made with fairly crude animation speaks wonders about the generally unsettling quality of the material.
