Boy, do we love us some Charli XCX
. The British pop singer led a supergroup at Thursday's NME Awards to deliver a passionate protest version of Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter."
The band, dubbed "Band 4 Refugees" included Years & Years' Olly Alexander, Pixie Geldof, Austin Williams and members of Circa Waves, Peace, Slaves, Black Honey, and Swim Deep. Each member on stage was wearing "Choose Love" tee shirts and performed in front of a backdrop urging for donations to the United Kingdom charity, Help Refugees
It's very clear in the video that each member on stage was having the time of their lives performing the Stones' hit song. At the start, Charli XCX and Olly Alexander had their arms around each other and, of course, Alexander showed off his impressive dance moves while Charli XCX channeled her inner rockstar. The Band 4 Refugees absolutely killed that performance.
