In Tupac's classic West Coast club destroyer, "California Love," Dr. Dre laid down the unforgettable line "The track hits your drums like a slug to the chest." I'd never really understood that expression. Not because I didn't know what Dre was trying to see, I just never experienced a track that was that immediately pulsing. I get it now. Regular M.I.A. partner Diplo's newest track, "Express Yourself" is the musical equivalent of getting a machine gun to the face. The track is schizophrenic to the point of complete and utter excess (in a good way) with such a pounding percussion that you'll feel the song five minutes after it's done. You're going to need a bulletproof vest to brave this track.
