New kids on the block Alabama Shakes have been building up steam for their debut album Boys & Girls, which is out on April 10 via ATO Records. Check out their newest track "Heavy Chevy", in which every person in the back is playing out of their mind with energy. The band sounds authentically retro and transcends a 'garage rock' title. With the way this band plays, and the way that Brittany Howard sings, they're a legitamite blues band.
Alabama Shakes shows with this song that they can do fast-paced rockabilly just as well as the gospel blues on their other songs. Never has "I'll buy you new appliances" sounded so sexy. "Heavy Chevy" is available for download along with their single, "Hold On" below.
