A Blithesome Marnie Stern on Latest Track

The latest from her forthcoming LP Chronicles of Marnia has everything we love and expect to hear from a new Marnie Stern track. "Nothing is Easy" has big rung-out chords over finger-tap melodies and Stern's unique vocal timbre emoting sweetly over the track. The drums aren't Zack Hill crazy, but still sporadic and with purpose. What's really different is a theme we've been seeing and hearing through glimpses of Marnie's March release. Whereas on her last album Marnie Stern, you could imagine the songwriter nearly pulling out her hair in frustration and sadness, the new material reveals an almost zen-like Stern. "Nothing Is Easy" further presents the new album as hopeful for the world, Marnie Stern and our sake. Look for Chronicles of Marnia, out March 19th on Kill Rock Stars.
