At some point, you've heard your parents or your grandparents say something along the lines of "Kids these days! With their hippity-hop and Justin Biebers, they wouldn't know good music if it smacked them in their face." And us serious music fans take our lashes because while we certainly adore plenty of the classic rock that our parents adored, we know there's a little more to the world than music that came out before 1990. Well, it looks like our parents may be right about our generation after all if the stunning amount of people who didn't know who Paul McCartney was last night during the Grammys has any meaning.
That picture killed us all a little on the inside, and there's
more where that comes from. Maybe a person who's seen the Beatles Cirque du Soleil show and has listened to
Revolver more times than is likely healthy is too biased to make a judgement here, but if ever a sad statement about our nation has been made, then this is it. We're just praying that these people are trolls. Forgive us while we cry for our nation's youth and put on our worn out copy of
Abbey Road.
