Do you love mixtapes? If so you are in luck. We are proud to announce a new weekly feature on Baeble called T.G.I.Mixtape. Basically, every Friday we will be putting together a mixtape to last you through the weekend, full of great songs, both old and new. This is really the best way we can help spread the word about music we love and give you some new tracks to listen to at the same time.
For our inaugural T.G.I.Mixtape, boy do we have some hot music for you. Most of these songs haven't even been released yet. And be sure to check in every Friday for a whole new batch of great music. Enjoy!
1.
Camera Obscura - My Maudlin Career
To start us off, here's a brand new track from
Camera Obscura's much anticipated new album, entitled
My Maudlin Career.
2.
Max Tundra - Which Song
Here's a really fun song off of
Max Tundra's latest album,
Parallax Error Beheads You. If you haven't heard, they are heading out on tour with Junior Boys, be sure to check it out.
3.
Architecture in Helsinki - That Beep
If you haven't heard this song yet then you are in for a treat. This may just be the best song
Architecture in Helsinki has ever laid to tape. If it doesn't get you up and dancing I don't know what will.
4.
Dent May & his Magnificent Ukelele - Meet Me In The Garden
I have been listening to
Dent May's debut release,
The Good Feeling Music of Dent May & His Magnificent Ukelele on repeat. It seems every song on this album is catchier than the next, but this one is for sure among the best.
5.
Hot Panda - Cold Hands, Chapped Lips
New band alert.
Hot Panda are comin' at ya, bringing all the energy of Los Campesinos! and the all the cuteness of the Boy Least Likely To. Keep an ear out for these guys.
6.
Charles Spearin - Mrs. Morris
This is definitely one of the more unique projects I have heard in awhile. Basically
Charles Spearin decided to interview his neighbors about what makes them happy and then put music to the recordings. The results are pretty sweet.
7.
Emanuel & the Fear - The Rain Becomes the Clouds
I have been hearing a lot lately about
this 11-piece band from Brooklyn. This is orchestral rock at it's best. I can't wait to hear the rest of their stuff when it comes out.
8.
Darla Farmer - History
I have been listening to this song on repeat lately. If you aren't familiar with
this band I really suggest you check them out. I would describe their music as carnival ska rock. A weird mix that really seems to work.
9.
The Antlers - Bear
This is another band that I have just recently gotten into and I'm so happy that I did. Really sentimental, lovely sounds coming from
this Brooklyn band. Their newest album is called
Hospice and I strongly recommend it.
10.
Leo Blais - All in All
For the last song on our first ever mixtape, I chose this soft ballad by Lowell, Massachusetts native,
Leo Blais. A truly beautiful song to put you at ease when times are tough.
Well I hope you have enjoyed our first ever T.G.I.Mixtape. As I said, there will be a new one of these every Friday, so please do come back and check it out. Have a good weekend!
