Monday Introspection with Kurt Vile

Kurt Vile's new album Waking On A Pretty Daze comes out this April on Matador, and the opening track, though oddly long, is a sign of good things to come. "Waking On A Pretty Day" is a wandering, pleasantly dusty song that recalls Thurston Moore's solo work with its contrast of acoustic twang and electric warble. Kurt Vile takes us through some morning ponderations over a Pavement-y guitar jam that's perfect for some Monday introspection. The song is available as a free download at Matador.

The song tracks a video of Vile's fellow Philly-native and artist Steve Powers (aka ESPO) as he paints the cover of the album on a barren building.

Walking On A Pretty Daze is out April 9th via Matador. Pre-order it now.
