Hours after releasing a short teaser for her music video, "Freak" (starring Father John Misty), Lana Del Rey has shared the trippy 11-minute saga for the Honeymoon track last night. The story begins with Josh Tillman (aka Father John Misty) walking in a field - shouting to the heavens like a madman - and Lana Del Rey appears with her luscious, mermaid-like mane. Lana gets serenaded by J.Tillman right before they drop acid and go on an intimate, romanticized, hazy quest around the desert.
At one point, Lana Del Rey literally drinks - or provocatively drenches her face - with the Kool-Aid and frolics with J.Tillman in a foggy, white-filled scene where the music stops for a few seconds. The second half of the video plays Claude DeBussy's "Clair de Lune" while Lana and the girls from "Music To Watch Boys To" look like mythical, angelic creatures in an unnecessarily long scene as you watch them gracefully move underwater.
Lana Del Rey has said she's always admired John Tillman in an interview with Radio.com, saying Father John Misty reminds her of her roots. It appears the admiration is mutual as J.Tillman said Honeymoon was amongst his favorite albums of 2015. The sultry, hazy video for "Freak" is definitely a little freaky as it might give you the urge to move to California, wear only white, and go on an acid-fueled conquest through the desert with your lover - with hopes of growing some Lana-locks.
