Trip-hopping, pop/rocking (and whatever else theyre doing) duo Phantogram
just released a video to accompany the suspenseful sounds of "When I'm Small", from their debut full length album Eyelid Movies
. Black and white minimalism theme the edgy aesthetics of the cut, which slowly comes to life with blurred flashes of color and a gradual introduction of a starry-sky background. Singer Sarah Barthel stomps and gyrates with closed eyes as she sings and uses her whole body to express the feeling behind the song, while Josh Carter solemnly plays his guitar in the background of most shots, nodding along to the music. It is an expressive and artistic piece, and the simple set effectively draws attention to the featured visuals as well as the music they accompany.
Phantogram's Eyelid Movies
is out now on Barsuk Records, and you can check out the video for "When I'm Small" right here!
