One of the top acts of CMJ proved their worth, inked a deal with
Glassnote, and plans to release their debut record in the states in early 2010. And although they sound like a upper west side furniture store, the only thing they want to sell you is their unique brand of folk-pop. No "Ottoman," or even
Chairlift. More like
Fleet Foxes,
Crosby Stills, and even
Kings Of Leon.
Mumford And Sons are Marcus Mumford (vocals, guitar, bass drum, and tambourine strapped to his left foot and right,) Ben Lovett (keyboards,) Country Winston (banjo, dobro, electric guitar) and Ted Dwane (bass). Formed in 2007, they've been recording and touring for quite some time, finding breakout success during their performances surrounding the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC. We certainly
enjoyed them.
Make sure to pick up
a dining room table Sigh No More when drops 3/2 on
Glassnote. -
