Daron Aronofsky's visual companion for "The View" (by this year's it-collab, Lou Reed and Metallica) is surprisingly muted, considering the underlying track is one of the most despised and confusing pieces of music created this year. Grainy black and white footage of Loutallica rocking out isn't exactly on par with the striking (and often disturbing) imagery Aronofsky is known for with him filmography, but then again, perhaps the music speaks for itself.
Aronofsky claims to be a fan. "I had never heard anything like it", he is quoted in the press release. "I couldn't stop listening to it. Lou's crushing lyrics, and the band's incredible licks. It's so original and that's why I wanted to work on it."
