School of Seven Bells recently announced the release of their third album, Ghostory, due out on 2/28. It will also be the last album to feature founding member, and twin sister to singer Alejandra, Claudia Deheza. But despite the trio now becoming a duo, the band has still managed to kick out the jams and give us a taste of what to expect on Ghostory with the first single, "The Night."
"The Night" kicks off with the echoey coos of an airy synth riff. It's joined briefly by a distorted guitar before the full sonic wave kicks in, sending you back to the 1980s with its heavy New Wave feel. The track is filled to the brim with layers of synthesizers and guitars, but the real highlights are the harmonies provided, sadly for the last time, by the Deheza sisters. The two, for obvious reasons, compliment each other extremely well, creating irresistible hooks that make SVIIB what they are. Check out "The Night" below.
