Chief's opening track to Modern Rituals is one of their most indicative, full of California harmony and thumping momentum. Director Austin Peters gives it the smudge treatment in the official video, where scenes from an American lifetime play out with some obscured faces.
"The Minute I Saw It" is a somewhat gloomy number, and the blurred faces of Peters' characters don't help the feeling of uncertainty. But the climactic finish brings about a resolution we can all get behind, so stick it out through the unsettling bits. Like the song, there comes a time to see.
