What are the holidays really about? Food, duh. In keeping with the holiday spirit of family and feasts, Pro Era's Joey Bada$$ has gifted us with his food centric track "Curry Chicken." The track is a gently brassy, piano backed tribute to the rapper's number one fan: his mother. Bada$$ lyrically nods to his mother's eat-a-hot-luch-wear-a-hat concern and her prideful support in one breath, rapping as her to him, "see you on TV again, boy you lookin' thinner, but you lookin' like a winner." The song's press release came with a personal note from Joey:

"Curry Chicken was one of my favorite meals to eat growing up. I give thanks for being able to make it home just in time for the holidays. Ain't nothing like sharing these wonderful moments with the family and having the best dinner. This is a gift from me to you this Christmas wrapped in a Bada$$ flow. Happy holidays! #B4DAMONEY is almost here!!! (1.20.15) #ForeverJr #LongLiveSTEELO.

P.S. You got to give to get and then you give back!"
-B4DA$$

"Curry Chicken" comes off Bada$$' debut LP B4.DA.$$ due out on January 20 (Joey's 20th birthday). Pre-order the album iTunes, and for old times' sake let the Pro Era crew show you "How To Rap A Present" free-style via BuzzFeedMusic:
