Hearing the terms "synth punk" and "bedroom project" together to describe a song might make some people cringe. Their minds may immediately run to some depressed kid in his dorm room who just bought a Moog and was raised listening to the Misfits and Descendents. No? Was that just me? Well, even if it's just for me, I'm happy I can put my fears to rest knowing that Shawn Foree's synth punk, bedroom project, Digital Leather, has a new single, "Young Doctors In Love," and it lives up to the best sides of those terms.

"Young Doctors In Love" was written by Foree as a cathartic release to deal with the passing of his good friend Jay Reatard. The track, off of Digital Leather's upcoming new album, Modern Problems, wastes no time diving into it's catchy goodness. It's loud, fuzzed out, and surprisingly upbeat and fun. Foree's voice sounds a bit like Caleb Followill, and I mean that in a good way. "Just for one more night, let's relive the past," Foree sings. Sounds good to us as long as we can kick out his jam when we're back there. Check out "Young Doctors In Love" below and stay tuned. Modern Problems is coming out on 2/14 for all the lovebirds out there.
