and Atticus Ross will haunt the movie screen yet again this December. Reznor just announced the completion of a soon to be released three hour "opus" that resulted from their intense creative sessions for David Fincher's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" soundtrack. On the Nine Inch Nails website he states, "We laughed, we cried, we lost our minds and in the process made some of the most beautiful and disturbing music of our careers."
Download a six track sampler below:
The full album is available for preorder on iTunes (if you preorder from iTunes you get a free download of the Karen O cover of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song") and the NIN website—the digital (and HD digital) album is available for download on December 9th, the triple CD (which includes a digital version) will ship out on December 27th and a special deluxe edition will ship out on February 6th. The deluxe pack includes the six piece album on 180 gram vinyl and a USB pendant shaped like Lisbeth's razor blade necklace (including a digital copy of the album); as further fanatic incentive, each package is personally signed by Reznor and Ross.
I actually find the sampler quite relaxing (I enjoy a good apocalyptic lounge here and there); previous works like The Downward Spiral
are, of course, still far more disturbingly beautiful.
