Here at Baeble, if we don't like something, we generally let you know by not letting you know. We don't find it necessary to participate in the derailing of up-and-coming acts' paths to success—we choose instead to wait until they've become popular to express our animosity. So when it comes to the Nicklebacks and Mileys of the music world, we're always on board and ready to rock the boat. Looking at the past year there were many stellar album releases, but there were also a fair share of duds. To find out which albums were universally disliked in 2013, we patrolled the review score aggregating source Metacritic, and there were few surprises. Here are the 10 worst reviewed albums of 2013.
10. Britney Spears - Britney Jean
Back in the late 90s Brit Brit and JT were the prince and princess of pop. Thirteen years down the road, he's been crowned the new king, and she's as brainless as Anne Boleyn.
9. James Blunt - Moon Landing
Ohhhhhh. He's the "Beautiful" guy!
8. Linkin Park - Recharged
One thing we don't know why, is how this band continues to maintain a solid fan base.
7. will.i.am - #willpower
6. The Neighbourhood - I Love You
Although they stole the hearts of tons of angsty teenage chicks, grown-ups just can't figure out why a bunch of California bros spell like Brits.
5. Anvil - Hope In Hell
Not even a great documentary could help these poor Canadian shredders.
4. Kodaline - In a Perfect World
Can't say we agree with this one, but they are a bit soft-rock generic.
Featuring the absolute worst opening 30 seconds of all time.
2. Black Flag - What The...
Releasing new material for the first time in over 28 years can set expectations pretty high. Maybe our tastes have evolved, but this album was pretty brutal (and not like "brutal" in the punk sense, you know what I mean).
1. Megadeth - Super Collider
Unfortunately for Dave Mustaine no one will ever listen to his music without picturing Rick Santorum's bat-shit face. Didn't anyone learn from Ted Nugent's mistakes?
