Saturday Night Live has certainly had its ups and downs this season, but combining the simple, holiday-ready charm of Michael Buble and veteran player Jimmy Fallon was a winning combination. Lots of laughs. Buble got in on the fun with his own duets sketch, featuring a gaggle of music impressions (Thom Yorke! Sting! MIA for some reason!). Fallon brought a few old friends along for some throwback sketches, a Weekend Update blast from the past, and our favorite
SNL Christmas tune. Beethoven does stand-up. And the most infamous birthday boy of December makes an appearance to his devoted follower, Tim Tebow.
The cold-open was the best kind of throwback.
Buble duets with some of the music world's most desirable collaborators. Fallon does one hell of a Bieber.
Did you know "Beethoven's Fifth" is a veiled allusion to his raging alcoholism?
Tim Tebow and The Broncos get an unexpected pep talk from the J-man.
Weekend Update joke off really brought out the all-stars, and featured sneaky guest player Jude Law as himself alongside Andy Samberg's near-perfect Nicholas Cage.
Horatio Sanz, Chris Kattan, and Tracy Morgan all managed to sneak in for another rendition of the infamous "I Wish It Was Christmas Today." I was secretly hoping for
the Julian Casablancas version.
Oh and Michael Buble performed some of his number one Christmas tunes, if you're into that sort of thing.
