Whoever said disco is dead should have just said, it was going into a long hibernation. In recent years, the music hotness of the '70s has come back around and found it's way into tracks by Daft Punk, Eden xo, and now, LA disco-pop duo, Dead Right
, who have hit the mark with their song "Rising Tide."
Baeble is excited to premiere the official video for the synthy '70s inspired track, which made us sit up in our seats from the first frame of singer/songwriter Graham Knoxx looking all kinds of sexy in a one piece and perfect blonde pixie cut.
The video has all the stylings of a vintage production. From the sets, styling, and camera effects, it's a fresh retro take on music history's past.
About the video, Knoxx explains how the song and video came to light working with musical partner Alex Goose.
"I was living in my parents house, in my childhood bedroom after quitting my job and moving across the country to DC, trying to recover from the heartbreak of my life after being dumped on Valentine's day," she tells Baeble. "I was in a really dark space, but was really making every effort to pull myself out of the trenches. So Alex Goose and I started recording a project from two different sides of the country, he in LA, me in DC. This dance song was recorded in my closet, and sort of haphazardly created a strange friction of sweet syruppy melodies coupled with dark lyrical undertones. When I got to LA, we developed a concept with director Stewart Yost, of a series of worlds in which I was under the control of Alex, or the "wizard" behind the curtain, and was eventually able to break free. The imagery harkens back to Jean Luc Godard and drug fueled 70s disco nights, which, we think worked pretty well."
