Charlie Brown, 34th Street, Elf and George Bailey are creeping on our television rotations, y'all! It's getting closer. And no, our grenade themed ornaments are not in honor of the return of Jersey Shore
in January. It's the Mixtape, brought to you by whiskey and a severe distaste for Black Eyed Peas lyrics.

1. "Indestructable" - Robyn - Body Talk
Hands down my favorite pop music of 2010. You can keep your Ke$ha vomit.
2. "When I Get Home" - Wildlife - Strike Hard, Young Diamond
These guys came out of nowhere with an album that is definitely towards the top of my list this year, which is kind of crazy, considering it's been one hell of a year for music. But Strike Hard
is a great, I highly reccomend it if your sweet tooth is still craving new tunes next week (while the music industry goes on a cruise until 2011, bon voyage!).
3. "Living In America" - Dom - Sun Bronzed Greek Gods EP
This sadly overlooked EP is getting a larger re-release early next year, which is good news, because this is the quality tunez. Pay attention, 2011. You gotta keep this thing going.
4. "Avril 14th" - Aphex Twin - Drukqs
Kanye afficianados be nerding out... the source of the piano sample from the deliciously twisted "Blame Game" comes from this Aphex Twin track. Stick it out until the end. If you were watching the internets a few weeks ago the entire set of sampled tracks was bouncing around... a great companion listen for MBDTF
if you're into that kind of thing (because I really am).
5. "Castle Walls (Ft. Christina Aguilera)" - T.I. - No Mercy
The album is lackluster and I heard the demo of this featured a different singer who killed it much harder than Xtina (surprise!) but this song struck me as one worth listening to. Pop muzak for the head bopping.
6. "Freak Out" - Tapes 'n Tapes - Outside
Who? Tapes 'n Tapes? Didn't they break up back when Clap Your Hands Say Yeah sold out? WELL THEY'RE BACK BABY.
They have a new album and it's another awesome way to start off the new year. Outside
is out 1/11/11, which is a great day for anything!
7. "Tiny Head" - The Luyas - Too Beautiful To Work
These Canadien sonic explorers always keep it interesting, and this new album is no exception. It's impacting 2/22 via Dead Oceans, with guest appearances from Owen Pallett, Arcade Fire's Sarah Neufeld and Attack In Black's Daniel Romano.
8. "For The First Time" - The Script - Science and Faith
Sometimes you hear a pop song and you're like eh, bargain bin. And sometimes you hear a pop song and you're like, damn, that hook hits it. The Script kind of dwell in the latter situation all the time for me, as I had this song floating around in my head for like two weeks before I cracked and asked for a promo copy of the record. Spoiler alert: it's good.
9. "On That Day" - Spirit Family Reunion - When My Name Is Spoken 7"
If you missed the premier, don't miss the band or our assessment
: "a group with so much country soul they make the mountains of the Carolinas look like Northern New Jersey."
10. "6'7" (Ft. Cory Gunz)" - Lil' Wayne - Tha Carter IV
"AAAHMMMM BACKKKKKK!" - Lil' Wayne
"Yup." - America
