You might remember
Steve Schiltz as the singer/songwriting force behind veteran indie band
Longwave. Well, he recently expanded his musical franchise, writing and recording a new solo album dubbed
Tonight is the Ghost under the moniker
Hurricane Bells. It was supposed to be a self-released...that is until Schiltz placed his album b-side "Monsters" on the
New Moon soundtrack. Queue mass, teenage hysteria and Debby Gibson style mall performances.
"This Year", however, comes straight from the main release, and brings with it a rather endearing music video as well. Here, new beginnings, far flung adventures, and love at first all circle around a central cast of little people....er, sorry. I mean Little People...like the ones you played with when you were a tiny tot.
Tonight is the Ghost is out now on
Vagrant Records. Look for a swirl of Hurricane Bells activity later this winter/spring, as well as a
Guest Apartment session right here on Baeble. -
