Back in May, Spoon debuted a new song, "If I Aint The One" at Festival Marvin in Mexico City and the video circulated the internet but the song was never released. But on Sunday night's episode of Showtime's Shameless, "If I Aint The One" was playing for a little over a minute during the closing scene and it was the first time we've heard the studio version. The following day, the nearly full-length song (it strangely fades out before hitting the three and a half minute mark) was released on YouTube and we can finally listen to it whenever we want.

"If I Aint The One" has the distinctive, brooding Spoon sound with a warm, slightly-haunting rock sound. Frontman Britt Daniel uses his mysterious, nasally voice to lure you into a trance-like state right before the song goes into a 60s psychedelic rock sound.

Last night, Spoon turned to social media to post an image of a black and white skull that may or may not be their next album cover. It's been two and a half years since their last album, They Want My Soul, was released so a new album in 2017 seems pretty likely - especially after the release of "If I Aint The One". Fingers crossed.
