20. "Marrow" - St. Vincent
A track off of her latest Actor, St. Vincent channels Bjork pretty hardcore, giving us a solid groove to start off our countdown.

19. "We Will Find You" - The Happy Hollows
The Happy Hollows tightened up their sound with Spells, and "We Will Find You" is an eclectic spread of their poppy, odd rock and catchy hooks.

18. "Show Some Love, When Your Man Gets Home" Princeton
Princeton nailed the nouveau beach sound with their tempo swapping tune, a sleeper hit for sure in anyone ardent indie collector's library.

17. "French Navy" Camera Obscura
The charming pop of My Maudlin Career is no better summed up than in the infectiously swoon-worthy "French Navy."

16. "Sweet Disposition" - Temper Trap
Some might say this made them; Temper Trap wowed at CMJ this year and inside sources confirm: they landed a record deal because of this song.

15. "Daniel" - Bat For Lashes
Bat For Lashes made a stunning art pop record in Two Suns, and this song is the one that made the diamonds rain from the sky (in our hearts).

14. "Gimme Sympathy" - Metric
Emily Haines is another point for female indie starlets, consistently cranking out great stuff with Metric, and scored big this year with Fantasies, solidifying her spot on our crush list (don't tell anyone).

13. "Anonanimal" - Andrew Bird
Consistently affecting, beautiful, layered, and especially mind-blowing, Andrew Bird is one of the great musicians of the decade. Hands down. Noble Beast was full of his usual triumphant compositions, and this one is no less than exquisite.

12. "Kiss Of Life" Friendly Fires
Dance rock found its new champions in Friendly Fires, they rocked our filming at Le Poisson Rouge, and on their record, totally nailed it with this foot moving classic.

11. "Young Adult Friction" POBPAH
Fun. SO MUCH f***ing fun.
