I'm not a big fan of Kanye West
. Yes, he is undoubtedly a musical genius who has the power, prestige, confidence and talent to sell out arenas around the world, but his character and personality leaves much to be desired.
While he's known to think of himself as, "The biggest motherf*cking rockstar on the planet," he still turns to unlikely critics to give feedback on his current musical projects. Cue Seth Rogan, who, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone
, told the tale of being whisked by West from a Chicago hotel lobby into a limo with his wife, for a two hour freestyle sesh.
"Me and my wife had gotten some dessert and were in the lobby getting plates to bring back to our room And Kanye was like, 'What are you guys doing? Want to hear my new album?' So he takes us to this limo van and starts playing his album, except theres no lyrics only beats. So he raps the whole album and after each song, he stops it, like 'So what do you think? We were in the van for 2 hours!
The limo sesh with Kanye wasn't just a once in lifetime opportunity, but changed the way Rogan looks at his own work.
"Now I realize the next person he sees that he knows is getting pulled into that van. But I learned a lesson from it -which is, that Kanye is seeking input at all times. Processwise, it showed an openness and a fearlessness. We started screening our movies more and in rougher versions for our friends because of that."
OK...that's pretty cool.
