Camera Obscura played
Music Hall Of Williamsburg last week to a sold-out crowd. Luckily Baeble was there to capture the whole thing.
These Glasgow based veterans have been playing together since 1996 (which is way over the hill in indie years), and in that time they have released four full lengths; their most recent album being
My Maudlin Career whic dropped last spring. For the set list, the band covered songs spanning their whole discography including early tracks like "80's Fan" and "Pen and Notebook" to their most recent singles like "French Navy" and "Honey in the Sun". Front woman
Traceyanne Campbell (who has admitted to suffering from stage fright) sounded lovely throughout the set of pleasant pop tunes, always tinged with a hint of melancholy. I wish there had been a bit more inter-band banter; those Scottish brogues are music to my ears. -
