Last night Conan O'Brien made his return to late night television with a few special guests, including an old friend named Jack White (you might know of him). The two have been buddies since Conan first had Jack's band The White Stripes play on his show back in 2003, and even though the show has changed a few times, the friendship remains the same. So it was expected that White would show for the first episode of Conan, and it was nice that the two performed the cover of Eddie Cochran's "Twenty Flight Rock" that they did on the Nashville leg of Conan's "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on TV" tour. It was a really happy moment for TV, because he is legally allowed to be there now.

First, the kind of awesome cold open:

He's back! Never talk bad about the family, NBC. Later he straps on a guitar.

The song also appears on Conan's Live at Third Man EP. The pair talked about it and some other stuff they've done together in an interview after the performance:

Conan is now ON, weeknights at 11/10c on TBS. -joe puglisi
