. And seen again, today, with the remix of already chart-topping hit "Jealous," which now features heavier bass, a few profanities (we get a few "fucking beautiful"s) and an interlude from "On 2" singer Tinashe.
Is it soulful? Is it steamy? Is it sexy? Is it warranted? No, not really; it's just about as asinine as the music video for the original version of the song was, actually, and that's saying something. Tinashe's vocals certainly have more character than Nick's dime-store falsetto and it's a tad bit racier but the singers have no chemistry: neither plays off of the other or even seems to be singing for to their partner. An ironic commentary on the vapidity of most love songs (how could that original music video be anything but self-aware?) or a matter of poor direction and bad singing?
