Video have surfaced of Sigur Ros
's only acoustic performance ever — remnants of a recent run with the "Go Closer" series. Jonsi's management cancelled the dates after just one show at LA's Origami Records, deciding in a statement that the intimate acoustic setting is "not the environment in which he flourishes," and that the show, which they describe as "arguably... the most uncomfortable experience of [Jonsi's] ten years in the public eye," was never a good idea in the first place.
Those of us (that is to say, almost everyone) that weren't at Origami on that fateful day can only watch the videos of "Stars in Still Water" and "Go Do" below and dream of what might have been had Jonsi taken to the acoustic environment a bit better. Based on this video, we're still trying to figure out what the hell they are talking about (it's excellent).
You can, alternatively, catch Jonsi in his comfort zone at one of the remaining dates on his full-band world tour, which promises to be impressive in a completely different way. His solo debut, Go
