Jimmy Fallon's music department continues to prove that they earn their keep by booking some great acts. Or maybe they are just trying to get people to forget about that whole Michele Bachmann
thing. Either way, last night, The Dodos
stopped by to perform "Don't Try and Hide It" with backing vocals and guitars from special guest Neko Case
, who helped the band recording their fourth album, No Colour
The minimalist sound of the song transferred well to the NBC studios. Jangling guitars and tom-heavy drum beats gave the live performance of the song a power that one may not expect from listening to the album version. Meric Long and Neko Case's harmonies blend smoothly as he bops his head at the mic and she sits patiently waiting for her part to come up. Give it a watch.
Also feel free to watch the whole broadcast. The Dodos come in at the 37 minute.
