Deep down, even the biggest of the biggest love the original Disney movies. Go ahead, you can admit it: you used to watch Aladdin in big sweatpants and slippers pretending you had a magic carpet, no need to be ashamed. With all the new versions of some of these classics, we truly reminisce about the good ol' VHS days. The Rock's 2015 Hercules wishes it could be as memorable as the 1997 version. No matter how many dumbbells the Rock throws, it still won't even compare.
But there's hope: We Love Disney, and Ariana Grande's rendition of "Zero To Hero," from the '97 demigod animated hit. Grande is simply dazzling. Her voice is pristine and charismatic; and this song isn't the easiest to cover, mind you. Her sharp vocal range brings a new persona to the song. Hercules suddenly becomes the desired greaser Ponyboy-like stud, and Grande is twice as smokin' as Sandy and the Pink Ladies ever could be. But let's not stray too far from the Disney classic, Hercules still is and always will be the son of Zeus, and Grande's "Hero To Zero" might just be that extra spark Herc needs to combat Hades.
